A Mini Book, yet a big project!

It's been ages since I did any real scrapbooking and I had these gorgeous "Perfect Papers" by Pink Petticoat laying around so.......

Take a look:

We spent a lovely holiday in Greece a couple of years ago and I had so many lovely pictures that it's taken me this long to sort just a few to scrap! There are so many more I would have loved to do, but realistically it would have ended up the size of a Bible! I chose action shots that hold fun, happy memories to myself and my family and went with the flow...

Here's what I used:

Mini Book: "Bind It all" Machine, "Bind It All" Acetate covers/ White 6"² pages/ 3/4" Brown wires.
Papers: Pink Petticoat -Perfect Papers & Solid -Duck Egg.
Stamps: For the Luv of Art - Click, Papertrey Ink -It's Official, My Time Made Easy -Fanciful Flourishes, Basic Grey -Arrow set, Prima -Mesh/Corner Stamp, Maya Road -Calender Stamp.
Inks: Memento -Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink -Scattered Straw/Faded Jeans.
Alphas: Pink Petticoat, My Little Shoebox alphas , Sizzix -Take it Easy strip die.
Other: Adhesive gems/pearls, Papertrey Ink -Buttons , Lilac Lace ribbon, Thread, Fineliner, Tissue Paper.
Tools: Bind It All machine, Nestabilities (Various), Martha Stewart XL Fan Border punch, Small circle punch, Sewing Machine, Stapler, Papertrey Ink - Eyelet Lace/Scalloped border dies, Sizzix Big Shot, Sizzix -Take It Easy Alphabet strip.

I'm so glad I stuck with this project, it took a long time but I know I'm going to treasure it.

Thanks for looking and to the lovely gals who always leave such lovely comments. I want to wish my fellow bloggers who are going on a wonderful craft weekend an awesome time. Have a fab time ladies, I can't wait to see the pics!

Have a great day, the sun is shining YAY!

Mini Valentines

Good morning all!

I don't know about where you are but we have had the most gorgeous weather this week. The sun has been shining, the kids have been playing in the garden, even the trees have buds! It's a lovely change to feel the sun on your skin and it's put all of us in a great mood :)

So ..... I have been crafting :o)

These little beauties are for my son to give to the girls in his class. I wouldn't normally encourage it in the first year of school but the teacher suggested it in the school news letter! I won't argue with that, I get to make cards YAY, I guess they start early these days.

These are 2.5 x 2.5inch square card blanks, they are just so didi! I punched a heart border at the bottom of the card and attached a layer of "Pink Petticoat-Printable Kraft" behind to give a nice contrast.
The heart stamp is from "For the Luv of Art-HeArt" stamp set. The sentiment is from "Tiny Sentiments" from Woodware. I stamped the heart using Tim Holtz Distress Inks -Barn Door, Pumice Stone and Tattered Rose.
I made co-ordinating envelopes using the same stamps and coloured inks.
This is probably the closest I'll get to a Valentines card! So It'll be hard to let go of these ;o)

Recipe: Pink Petticoat Printable Kraft, FTLOA -HeArt Stamp, Woodware -Tiny Sentiment stamp, Adhesive Gems.
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Inks -Barn Door, Tattered Rose, Pumice Stone, Memento -Tuxedo Black
Tools: Martha Stewart Heart border punch.

Wishing you all a great day and hoping the sun is shining where you are.

A "Krafty" idea!

By now I'm pretty sure you all know just how big of a fan I am of Kraft cardstock. Kraft is so versatile and is a great contrasting colour for all your craft needs. In the past I have found it hard to come by and when I do it tends to be pretty expensive, until now!

Check this out! Pink Petticoat have just brought out a new download....

Which includes 7 shades of Kraft including card and paper patterns. All this for just 1.25GBP!

Your download comes with a sampler page to compare tones, here's what you can do with it! (Inspired by Liz Armstrong)

To make your own, simply print the sampler page and cut around each shade of Kraft which is labled 1,2,3 etc.. so you know which to print as you need it. Fasten together with a book ring and decorate with a little ribbon. Voila!

This looks so cute and will come in really handy!

Pink Petticoat have recently brought out some fab new products and there are some pretty wicked ones in the pipeline too :) If you wish, take a look in the boutique here and be inspired.

Thanks for popping by :)

When there's nothing else to give ...

...give a card. I have to admit I have quite a stash of cards that I've built up over the years. I often think "Will I ever use them all"? Probably not, is the answer to that. Cards are important because they show someone you are thinking of them, which hopefully brightens their day.

I had some very sad news back in November, my cousin was diagnosed with cancer. After numerous tests, it was revealed the cancer had spread to many parts of her body and there is nothing anyone can do.

Jane is a lovely, kind hearted lady who has always been my favourite cousin. She's down to earth, honest and never lets life get in her way. Even now she is in high spirits, which I find remarkable.

Jane moved to a hospice yesterday and has been told she has a matter of weeks to live.

What do you give?

I made this card for Jane. A pretty, feminine card. I hope it'll bring some light to her day, even if it's just for a seccond.

This was one of the hardest cards I ever had to write. If there is a God out there, may you watch over Jane, relieve her pain and if possible, perform a miracle.

Recipe: Papertrey Ink Stamps -Up, Up and Away Sentiments, Time for Spring Tags, PTI -Ripe Advocado Ink, Cream Cardstock, White satin ribbon, Pink Petticoat "Spring Wishes" papers

Tools: Scalloped/Circle Nestabilities

Sorry for my absence lately, I have a lot going on at the moment but I will be back soon on a happier note. Thank you for taking the time and reading my blog today.

A Christmas Bauble

Wow, deffinately feeling the rush of the festivities right now! Will we be able to get away for Christmas or will the snow have us snowed in? Who knows.....

Ok, so here is a bauble I was inspired to make after noticing them on Kathy's blog. I thought it was such a great idea and just had to give it a go with some yummy Pink Petticoat papers.

What do you think? It's so simple to do too. For the video click here and enjoy!

Told you I was rushing right? So, back to the kids, getting drinks and tidying the lunch plates......oh the joys!

Have a good one :)
