My heart goes out

My goodness I've not blogged for a while now, which would normally feel pretty shocking to me, but I can't begin to tell you just how I'm feeling right now. After seeing constant footage of the tragedy that has happened in Japan and that is still well and truely on-going, everything has been put into perspective. I just heard on the news that the death toll is 1600, can you even imagine? The footage of what once was and what has now been left behind, is just unbelievable. Something that if you saw it happen in a film, you'd think how unrealistic?

My heart goes out to the people of Japan, their families, friends near and far and all those people who have been cought up in this crisis. The next few days, months... are likely to be very trying for many, many people and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. And to the rescue teams that are risking their own health and safety in helping others....you are true Saints.

If miracles can happen, please ...

Life is sweet

I'm really in a wonderful, creative kinda place right now, I have a wonderful family and I am loving the opportunities that are coming my way.

I have been crafting for about 5 years now and from the day I thought up the idea in my head, I have never looked back. I adore being able to create something that is "Me". Something I designed, something that I don't have to worry "have I done it right"? With so many things in life you have to follow rules, ensure you fit in, blend into the rest...

When you are young, all you want to do is fit in and be like everyone else. But now I realise, that it's all about being "different" and different is a good thing. Creating is an outlet for me, something that brings me joy and more importantly it's for me.

If I'm honest, I never grew up thinking I could be a big achiever. I was never one of those children at school that could take things in and remember them just like that. It doesn't matter right? I'm creative instead :) And that's a wonderful thing.

I was flicking through the latest "Quick Cards Made Easy" mag this morning when I saw this.......

I was so shocked as I had no idea! I must have emailed this in months back, so to see it in the magazine months later, after completely forgetting about it was just lovely.

So, where have I been you may be wondering? Well, I have to say, just living really! Life takes over sometimes as I'm sure you all know. I've deffinately been crafting but you need to wait just a tad longer to see it. I've also been baking .....

Yumm!

At the weekend we took a trip to the Lindt Factory Outlet in Aachen, Germany. It was great, and my basket was full :o) I thought I did pretty well, concidering they had trolleys! To any one who loves Lindt as much as I do, it's deffinately worth it!

Unfortunately this wan't made of chocolate (grown), but it made a great back drop for a piccie! We already plan to go back before Easter :o) YAY!

2011!

Happy New Year! Wow, 2011 is here and it is two years to the day since I started my blog :o) I can't believe it has been 2 years already. I have gotten so much joy out of blogging, I have made some wonderful friends and I have also achieved some amazing things.

I love to create and to share with others what I do is really special to me. I've been on quite a crafty journey so far and there is still so much I want to achieve.

I have some incredible things coming up that I can hopefully share with you soon. I feel truely blessed that it's happening to me and simply can not wait! 2011 is going to be quite some year.

My first blog post was all about what I hoped to achieve and let me tell you, if you have a dream .....go for it! Grab it with two hands and do your best.

Wishing all of my readers near and far a happy, healthy New Year. Thank you so much for the lovely comments you always leave me and I hope you'll come back and visit again this year.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas all!

I can't believe Christmas is over already! All that planning, packaging, travelling etc for 24 hours! We had a fab time, but I'm secretly glad that the days are much calmer now.

We spent Christmas in Germany with family, which was great as I didn't have to do anything! No cooking, cleaning and with child entertainment sorted, it opened up a huge window for board games! I am now hooked on UNO and am also the "Rummikub" Queen! Ha ha ha.
The day after we arrived it snowed all day and we were well and truley snowed in! We did manage to get home on Monday evening, no thanks to the Belgian roads! Then of course we had to have Christmas day once more at home, as you do! The kids sprinkled the reindeer dust out of the window and left a carrot out and believe it or not........Santa came again! Needless to say, we have been playing with all the new toys ever since. The biggest hit (with everyone) has to be the shop......oh how I love playing shop keeper :o) Ka Ching!

Hubby is currently setting up the Kinect and is finding it a tad exhausting! Not the connecting but the actual playing part! I have "Belle" running around the living room and my son in a strop, so I thought I'd escape for a little while.
